Manchester is 40 minutes from our Wigan base and the moves are unlike anything in the outer towns. Ancoats, Deansgate, Salford Quays and the Northern Quarter are all apartment stock, which means lifts, loading bays, concierge desks and timed parking.

The hourly rate is identical — £45 for one mover, £70 for two — so the money is saved by planning access, not by haggling.

Book the lift and the bay before the day

Most managed blocks require a lift booking and a loading bay slot, often in a two-hour window. Sorting this a week ahead is the single biggest saving on a Manchester apartment move; without it, you pay for movers to queue.

  • Contact the building manager and reserve a lift slot
  • Ask whether the goods lift needs protective padding
  • Check the loading bay height limit for a 15 m³ Transit
  • Confirm out-of-hours rules if you are moving early or late

What the move costs

A one-bed city-centre apartment with lift access is typically two to three hours with two movers. Lift access is never surcharged. A walk-up without a lift adds £10 per floor per mover, published in advance.

Manchester to the outer towns

A lot of our Manchester work is people leaving the centre for more space in Wigan, Bolton, Leigh or Chorley. Those moves are a single load, one day, and quoted before you commit.

Frequently asked questions

Can you move a Manchester apartment in the evening?

Yes, we work until 8pm seven days a week at the same rate, which suits blocks with restricted daytime bay access.
