Removals in Manchester

Local removals in Manchester you can price before you book

Manchester is mostly apartment work for us: Ancoats, Castlefield, Deansgate, Salford Quays, the Northern Quarter and the student blocks around Fallowfield and Rusholme. City-centre moves live and die on the loading bay, so when you book we ask for the building's concierge details and book the goods lift and bay slot in advance wherever the building allows it.

Lift access costs you nothing extra — that matters here more than anywhere else we cover, because most Manchester flats are on the third floor or higher. Where there is no lift, our published stair charge applies: £10 per mover per floor, so a second-floor flat with two movers is a predictable £40 on top, not a surprise on the invoice.

For city-centre timing, an early start usually beats a mid-morning one: the bays are free, the roads are clear, and you pay for fewer hours. We work 7am to 8pm seven days a week at the same rate, so pick whichever slot suits the building.

FAQ

Man and van Manchester — common questions

Do you charge extra for a Manchester flat with a lift?

No. Lift access is free of charge on any floor. Only stair-carried floors are charged, at £10 per mover per floor.

Can you move a Manchester city-centre flat at the weekend?

Yes. We work seven days a week, 7am to 8pm, at the same hourly rate — weekends are often easier for loading-bay access.

How do I book a man and van in Manchester?

Call or WhatsApp us with your two addresses, floor levels and a rough list of what is moving. You get a fixed hourly price and an arrival window back the same day, usually within the hour.

Do you charge extra for stairs in Manchester?

House stairs are always included. For flats and apartments we add £10 per mover for the first floor, £20 per mover for the second, £30 for the third and so on. Where there is a working lift there is no surcharge at all.

Is there a minimum booking for a Manchester removal?

Yes — two hours. One man and van is £45 per hour and two movers are £70 per hour, charged from arrival at the collection address until the last item is unloaded.

How quickly can you get to Manchester?

Around 35 minutes from our Wigan base. Smaller jobs can often be covered the same day, and full house moves are usually available within the same week.

What size van do you use for Manchester moves?

One Ford Transit LWB with 15m³ of load space — our own van, not a subcontractor. It clears most one and two-bedroom homes in Manchester in a single run, and larger homes are done in staged loads.

Are my belongings insured on a Manchester move?

Yes. We carry goods-in-transit and public liability cover, and everything travels wrapped in blankets and strapped to the van wall. Access notes for Manchester: Loading bays, concierge sign-in and timed parking restrictions — we plan the bay slot before the day so the clock isn't burning while we wait.
