Flat removals with pricing you can actually check

City-centre apartments, converted mills and walk-up blocks across Manchester and Wigan — moved carefully, with per-floor surcharges published before you book.

  • Lift access at no extra charge
  • First floor +£10 per mover, second +£20
  • Loading bay and concierge bookings arranged
  • Communal floors and door frames protected
How it works

Built for stairs, lifts and tight access

Flat moves fail for predictable reasons: a loading bay with a 20-minute limit, a service lift that needs booking a week ahead, a stairwell too narrow for a three-seater sofa, or a removals firm that quietly adds a stair charge once the van is already loaded. We plan around every one of those.

Before your move we confirm the floor, whether there is lift access, where the van can legally park, and whether the building requires a lift booking or concierge notice. If the sofa will not go up the stairwell we say so early, so you can plan a hoist, a different route, or a different sofa.

Pricing is deliberately simple. The hourly rate is the same as any other move — £45 for one man and van, £70 for two. On top of that, flats carry a per-floor surcharge of £10 per mover for the first floor, £20 per mover for the second, £30 per mover for the third and so on. If the building has a working lift, that surcharge disappears entirely.

Everything is wrapped in the flat before it reaches the landing, and we use floor runners and door-frame protectors in communal areas so you keep your deposit and stay on good terms with the building manager.

Questions

Flat move FAQs

How is the floor surcharge calculated?

It is per mover, per floor band: £10 each for the first floor, £20 each for the second, £30 each for the third, and £10 more for each additional floor. Two movers on a third-floor flat means £60 in total.

Do I pay more if the building has a lift?

No. If there is a working lift we charge the standard hourly rate with no floor surcharge at all, whatever floor you are on.

What if the van cannot park close to the door?

Tell us at the quote stage and we will factor the carry distance into the time estimate. We would rather quote realistically than surprise you.

Can you move a studio or single room?

Absolutely. Studios and single rooms are usually a one man and van job at £45 per hour and are often finished inside two hours.

Do you protect communal areas in apartment blocks?

Yes. We use floor runners and door-frame protectors in shared hallways, lifts and stairwells, and everything is wrapped inside your flat before it reaches the landing.

Can you work around a booked service lift or loading bay slot?

Yes. Tell us the time window your building manager has given you and we will plan the load around it, including evening and weekend slots where needed.
